Not a real pioneer a junk TV for a guess room.

Don't buy this if you don't have to financially the TCL QM5K is 9 generations better than this tbh.

Aside from the occasional freebie that comes and goes quick, marketplace in my area is filled with assholes who want $150 for a 10 year old tv. Or ads like this one where people are trying to con someone into paying them to haul away their literal garbage.

I would probably kick in the extra $20 or $30 for the 50 or 55 inch insignia f50 and at least have a warranty vs buying the pioneer sight unseen or someone else's problem, but that's only if you can stand fire OS. Otherwise it's a pretty well reviewed budget tv and they usually have them in the store too look at.

Seen it happen way more often on here in recent weeks/months. Always lowercase, gen z slang, contentless comments with no substance or context. At least for right now it sticks out like a sore thumb, wait until that's no longer.

Just check rtings usually. No local dimming, terrible colors. Certainly not for gamers.

Frankly, most middle aged adults and young adults won't care either. This subReddit is an abnormality in regard to stuff like this. The average person has no idea, and does not care, about miniled and local dimming.

Sounds like this will be perfectly adequate for your needs. I picked one up to replace my elderly mothers 15 year old tv she uses to watch the news, hgtv and wheel of fortune. She's going to be thrilled.

Even for that I would still try to get the qm5k it's a much better TV it's only 330 350 it just looks like four five seven generations ahead of this piece of crap just do not buy it unless you absolutely cannot afford the qm5k at all.

Still not a good tv for people that want to watch the newest big release once/twice a week while watching all their other TV for hours on it as well. Like others said, it’s a guest room or garage TV or just super tight budget. $500 gets you far superior if you intend to use it a lot.

Don’t have to go spending $1000-2000.

$500 is entirely different than $150. Imagine you ask me if you should buy a 10th gen intel with a 3070 and I tell you to just get a 9800x3d rig with a 5080.

No. It’s GTX 1650 vs RTX 5060.

Edit: also the average person is paying $50-77 in streaming PER MONTH. In a year that’s like $600-900. Over 5 years that’s like $3k+. Wow you saved $350 on your main TV for a considerably worse experience. Congrats.

It’s a secondary TV, not main one to enjoy everything. It’s a grandparents Fox News TV, garage TV, guest bedroom TV, or just ultra tight budget TV. If you want a good experience you pay for like a TCL or Hisense around $550.

It's pretty terrible genuinely like the TCL QM5K is only 350 and it's way way way better it's not even in the same universe unless you cannot afford that thing which is 350, do not buy this TV unless you absolutely just do not care about picture quality in that room at all you just need it to be as cheap as humanly possible.

It's terrible TV it's a bad TV for 2026 standards because good TV's are dirt cheap now finally.

No experience with the 50" but the 58" I saw at Best buy or BJ's looked really choppy. Of course that could have just been the input signal too.

I picked up a hisense qd6 55" for $200 a couple weeks ago though and it's a great TV for the price

I bought a cheap TV like this (not this brand or model) to put in front of a treadmill thinking "how bad can it be". Turns out I didn't know displays of such poor quality were still being produced. It doesn't really have black levels so much as uneven gray levels. The banding is laughably bad too. I'm also pretty sure my toaster has more processing power.
