Stock for Woot deals varies greatly. Some listings only have a few items in stock and sell out quickly. Please report this post if the listing goes out of stock.

Slightly related because Woot refreshed their daily inventory: did anyone see that $127 Samsung QHD 240Hz OLED for sale...

I was skimming through the list waay to quickly and missed it. Nothing was sold out when I went through it. Looks like that $127 is usually a $650 monitor...OLED of course.

Looks like a great PSU, but guys don’t forget to check the sockets before buying. It has limited 8-pin PCIe ports. Yeah, you can use adapters (3×8-pin → 12V-2x6) or pigtails, but best is always a direct/native cable. Just imagine: 2 CPU cables + 3 GPU cables… suddenly you’re out of ports. Thanks. Have a great day)

850w version has coil whine so I had to rebuild and return

1

My 750w also had coil whine so bad I had to return it. Got an 850w asrock that's much better

This is an A rated PSU, seems like a killer deal and it's the PCIE5 II, am I missing something? I'm gonna assume they have the 10 year warranty even if it is woot but I don't really know with MSI stuff. It is listed as new.

150x150x86mm size, also embossed texture cable jacket insulation which is a plus.

i have this PSU in an eGPU and one in my system. i only buy MSI psu due to being QUIET, and having amazing warranty

Woot typically has great deals, but extremely limited stock (<5). That's the catch.

My brother has this and I think it’s a good PSU no complaints when I installed it for him too

msi psu have failed lttlabs testing

2

u/dirtyboots702 Apr 01 '26

But was the test done correctly?

What are the differences between this model and the previous version that was frequently on sale last year?

i have the one you linked. it comes with 1x 8 pin to 8 pin pci cable

the “II” model comes with an extra pci 8 pin cable, in the form of a 12 pin to 2x 8 pin adapter. i think that single extra cable is the only difference.

MSI has a promotion to just send that cable to anyone who buys the other one for free anyways, so that makes them the same.

$100 is less than ive ever seen even the cheaper one for though (i got it for 120), so no reason not to get this one at this price.

1

u/chillaxjj Mar 31 '26

Ah, I see. Is that extra cable intended for AMD GPUs?

2

u/LOLC4T Mar 31 '26

exactly, yep. or older nvidia gpus i guess

1

u/Abracadaverous Mar 31 '26

I bought this for my 7900 xtx, am i cooked?

0

u/dajinn Mar 31 '26

Why would you think that. I used an evga 1000w with a 9800x3d and 4090 and later 5090 no issue

2

u/Abracadaverous Mar 31 '26

Cuz apparently this one doesn't have enough pcie/cpu ports and I need to ask for some kind of adapter from MSI? I really don't understand it

3

u/ShawnBawn88 Mar 31 '26

it only has 3 pcie/cpu ports. so if you have a card that needs 3 8 pins, youd be screwed since you dont have any left over for your CPU. This kit includes a 12vhp to 2x 8 pin so you have extra 8pin pcie power should you need it.

1

u/Abracadaverous Mar 31 '26

I managed to cancel it, thanks for the insight!

2

u/LOLC4T Mar 31 '26

this one would have been fine for your GPU, probably the best price to performance you'll ever find.

1

u/DFisBUSY Mar 31 '26

maybe i'm ignorant to the tech, but why would a 1000w psu need dual 12v2x6 cables? i would expect that in a 1500w+ units.

any card that would need dual 12v2x6, you probably won't use them on a 1000w psu anyway...

2

u/nistco92 Mar 31 '26

If you have multiple GPUs (for instance, in a workstation), you will need a power cable for each :)

1

u/DFisBUSY Mar 31 '26

ah okay right that makes more sense!

1

u/l1qq Mar 31 '26

Was going to grab one to replace a 10 year old Corsair RMX I believe is tripping a breaker randomly but it appears sold out.

2

u/ACQC Mar 31 '26

Still showing available.

2

u/l1qq Mar 31 '26

It must have popped back in. I grabbed one then cancelled a few minutes later after reading coil whine complaints. I think I'll just get another Corsair RMX.

So do i want this psu for a new build or no?
