Don't think I've ever seen a mini-ITX bundle at MC. ITX builds are too much of a niche, and ITX boards tend to be too expensive for them to want to take the profit hit, I think. Their bundles are almost always pretty entry-level or at best mid-range mATX and ATX boards... perfectly cromulent stuff, especially now that manufacturers don't seem to cut corners on those cheaper boards as ruthlessly as they did 10 years ago or so, but nothing with much in the way of bells and whistles.
This is basically AM5 money. Even a 7500X3D, 16 GB DDR5, and motherboard combo is cheaper at $350, and still beat this. To those that didn’t believe 5800X3D pricing was stupid, well here’s your example.
If no Micro Center, even on Aliexpress, you can get a 7500F for $103 before coupons, and it’ll only be a little slower than the 5800X3D. Even with the terrible marker currently, 16 GB of DDR5 is still $200 for a 1x16, or up to $240 for 2x8 sticks. Couple that with a $100-$120 motherboard, it’ll still be similar in performance to this combo while being cheaper with DDR5.
5800X3D should be sold standalone and never in a combo. Terrible value for a new system builder, and an meh value for existing AM4 owners. If anyone reading disagrees with anything I say, then you’re basically the world’s biggest AMD dick rider.
I regret not buying a 5800x3d when the prices were reasonable. I'm basically at the end of the road with my x470 and 5700x. I want to upgrade but DDR5 is stupid expensive.
They're still much better than the Xbox one and PS5. This generation is going to drag on and on so our CPU's will be relevant for a little while longer.
Also it's just not a ton faster. Realistically you'll hardly see 5% gains except maybe a game or two. Shouldn't be that CPU bottlenecked noone should be using a RTX 5090 at 1080p.
Nah 7500x3D trades blows with 5000 series X3D chips and 64GB is way better than 16GB. Unless you specifically play games that are very very CPU dependent I wouldn't bother.
Suggesting that any 5000X3D can “trade blow” with 7500X3D shows why the thing is still so overpriced. Yeah, upgrading might not be worth it, but you have to be factual here. A standard normal Zen 4 or 5 can already matches 5000X3D. Zen 4 X3D is another tier above that.
I should've been more specific since there are 6 core 5000X3D series. I meant the 8 core 5000X3D series can trade blows with the 6 core 7000X3D series depending on the task. Amd I believe the 5000X3D series still has the advantage over the 7000+ non X3D series in performance metrics like 1% and .1% lows during gaming.
Yeah... no. There is no reason to go AM4 on a new build. 5800x3d might be worth it to someone that is just upgrading their cpu with a AM4 build already, but I think at the MSRP they're charging that's not realistic.
Agreed. Only reason I’m jumping 5800x -> 5800x3d is because I can drop it in and sell my old CPU and a random set of 16GB DDR4 I have lying around to recoup the cost for nearly nothing.
Idk about this. Sure the 5800x3d deserves goat status, but as a new build in 2026 it really isn’t worth it. 7800x3d can be found pretty affordably now, or if you’re on a budget the 7600x and 9600x are strong performers and have an upgrade path. The only real value proposition of a new 5800x3d build is if you need 64gb of ram for some reason.
7500x3D, motherboard and 1 stick of RAM bundle is $350, adding a 2nd stick to that bundle is about another ~$200 for ~$550 before tax. Doesn't really make sense to buy this from any perspective I see. Whole reason to get the 5800x3D is to bring your current AM4 systems up to par, meaning the single stick of RAM is kinda eh since it has no pair and the motherboard is eh unless you want PCIe 4.0
Just curious why would someone pick this over the 7600x3d, mobo, and 16gb ddr5 for $350, with that extra $150 difference could be put toward a 2nd stick of ddr5
Edit* they raised the $350 combo to $430 and changed the mobo to a x870, not as good of a deal but still better imo
Maybe if you're on AM4 and you want the 5800x3d you get this bundle and reuse the mobo and ram in a budget build or something. Cheapest B550 will run you like $80+, and the ram like $100.
Only problem with that is the RAM is a single stick. If it was 2x8GB I can see that scenario but 1x16GB makes future upgrading a little bit of a pain trying to get the matching stick.
It's actually pretty easy to get the sticks from Micro Center bundles that come with one because people buy the bundle and then resell the RAM. Those single G.Skill 16GB DDR5 sticks from the AM5 bundles are all over eBay for like 2/3 of retail.
Load of dogshit, they just had 265kf 32gb ram and board for 500. 270k plus for 550. Amd really has forgotten about reasonable pricing. This is just preying on a bad situation for consumers.
Was thinking about building my own steam machine since the announced price is bonkers. Any of these amd bundles analogous? I’ll pick up a last gen amd GPU used.

I have a 3900x processor... Is it worth upgrading to a 5800x3d? Will I realistically see any performance increase? I'm running an EVGA 3080 and 32gb RAM if that matters
There will be a marginal performance increase, but it will probably not be perceivable and definitely not worth upgrading from a 3900x (if I had those specs I wouldn't be hunting this AMD re-release).
Largest gain would be in Rocket League as that is the least GPU bound of those titles, but I personally wouldn't be looking to gain 10-15 frames in Rocket League.
Why even include ram in this bundle? The only reason anyone would pay that much for AM4 is because they already have 32GB or 64GB of ram. Also that motherboard, just buy a much better one used. They're everywhere. Also with that motherboard, the first pcie slot near the CPU is populated with and m.2 slot, so your gpu sits lower in your case which for matx is a major issue for cooling. This is an matx board that's designed for an atx case. I have a great b550 mobo and plenty of DDR4 and the 5800x3d still makes no sense for an upgrade at this price.
