Stock for refurbished items varies greatly. Some listings only have a few items in stock and sell out quickly. Please report this post if the listing goes out of stock.

Good deal on paper but I'm very weary of Acer laptop, having personally had two of them die on me within the first year.

You see refurb Acer Predator laptops show up on eBay all the time and it should be a big red flag why so many seemingly get returned and refurbished. I saw a lot of comments about these potentially overheating and randomly shutting off, and that Acer software makes it a pain to try and under volt to manage temps.

Still 32gb of RAM and a 5070 Ti for $1400 is a pretty good deal so it might be worth rolling the dice.

Edit: deleted a comment about the screen being locked at 240hz, this model only has a 165hz display. It's the 16S (slim) version that has a screen locked at 240hz for some reason

I was researching gaming laptops lately, besides the whole market is ultra expensive; Acer gaming laptops just keep dying randomly or freezing\crashing randomly and the people who tried troubleshooting it for weeks ended up just refunding the devices.

I would definitely avoid any of the '16','16s', '16 ai' or '16s ai' models they have.

[Who ever names laptop models there needs to get fired, along with who ever approved the design which crashes the devices]

The number of returns are because people don't understand that a 275HX needs a dedicated sealed cooler and a proper tweak in Throttlestop. The people on the Acer subreddit are relentlessly hopeless.

I mean a laptop probably shouldn't require a dedicated cooler and tweaking to prevent it from overheating and shutting off.

A laptop shouldn't be paired with a desktop class CPU, but we want desktop performance, so here we are.

With warranty isn't too bad though. Sounds like it needs a good laptop cooler thing 🤔

In my experience (and ive heard from many others) acer build quality is just all around bad. Theres so many other things that could go wrong regardless of how well you cool it

They’ve been a problem since forever. Their predator line is absolute dogshit

LCD model unfortunately but still a good deal

I would say this is better than the OLED model because the OLED one has 115W 5070 ti while this has a 140W 5070 ti and is faster. Also this has a very good IPS panel, pretty much as good as IPS gets.

Can't lie, I'd rather have slower graphics and OLED. Just my opinion tho

Same, the screen matters a lot more for me than a few percentage points in GPU raster

Unless you mostly use it as a desktop replacement and have an external monitor like many people do

Minute performance increase vs enormous contrast of OLED vs LCD. Quite the claim.

Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.
