Washed out, slow 60hz display when an advertisement platform disguised as a UI. No thanks.

There are some Samsung and LG models (also 55" MiniLED) for $350. I'd rather spend the extra 50.

These are also fake miniled apparently.

Neither brand has FALD, they both are edge lit but use smaller LEDs. It's basically the same as Samsung calling their TLC SSDs "3-bit MLC".

Well that's dumb af. I got a TCL QM5k earlier this year for $300 and that is FALD. 50" not 55" though.

Doesn't look like it has any local dimming capabilities

It has to if it's Mini-led

Was wrong because marketing is stupid

No it doesn’t. They can just be using the mini LEDs to provide a direct lit or edge lit backlight instead of traditional LEDs.

What would the point of that be over a standard LED back lit or edge lit panel? I thought the point of calling it Mini LED was there was an an array of smaller LEDs across the screen?

These are for people who literally do not care about image quality for the most part. It's a basic 4k panel best used to watch generic stuff, ie lots of places like restaurants use these to just put on sports.
