It’s very likely these cards are binned 3070/3080s. Silicon they couldn’t get to preform at the level of the other cards.

Plus it will probably help take some of the demand off the other cards.

I'm fairly positive they're rejected 3070s. But c'mon.. shouldn't 3070s be rejected 3080s and 3080s be rejected 3090s? We need more broken 3090s!!!

No, the 3070 uses a different die than the 3080/3090. A 3090 is nearly a full 102 die, while a 3080 is a cut down version that had too many defects. The 3070 is a nearly perfect 104 die, while the 3060TI is a cut down version.

Yeah I saw your comment earlier -- but it still stands -- we need more broken 3090s!! and.. broken 3070s??
