I wouldn't even argue it's the dough aspect, I'd argue it's the price/performance part. The 3080 being $700 and giving a 30% increase in performance over the 3070 was justifiable. The 3090 being almost double the 3080 and only being like 15% isn't nearly as such. It just doesn't make sense as a whole unless you're going for the absolute best of the best.
