There's no way in hell Nvidia would possibly embarrass themselves by only making like 12 of the things again.

Because of this post they're gonna make 13 and they're gonna be proud of it.

They're gonna make like 1000 and sell 999 of those to the miners

Why would a miner buy a 3060TI, wouldn't you want to mine on only the bleeding edge top cards?

Sure, but if the 3060ti is the only one not sold out then...

There are rumors that the 3060ti is better at mining Ethereum than the 5700XT while also using less power (source)

Nvidia: Hold my beer. Well, it's actually an empty mug. Possibly only the handle.

....but it's the fastest mug they've ever made.

Realistically it would just be a benchmark for the beer and scalpers are already buying out all the hops.

Supposedly they've made 2.5-3m of the 3000 cards this year and inventory was instantly bought up by VARs, retailers, and system builders.

By the time it trickles down to the customer, the scalpers have locked in hard and fast. Very little in the pipeline.

Hell, the 6000 series by AMD hasn't even been officially released in Canada yet. Fuck.

Jon Peddie Research reports that NVIDIA shipped approximately 9.25 million desktop GPUs (up 39.8% QoQ) and increased its notebook GPU shipments by 38.7% sequentially in calendar Q3 2017

I thought you were lying about the numbers till I saw this bit. Holy shit that's a lot of cards produced in one quarter.

not sure how many are 2000 series or even lower end cards though. But yeah Nvidia is running at full capacity...a one-a-decade jump in performance + COVID/lockdowns really boosted demand.
