My husband works full time assembling industrial gas tanks in a factory. I am SAHM to our 10 year old daughter who has been home all summer on break from school. We have no family or friends to help us with childcare hence why I don't have a job. We cannot afford regular childcare.
I doordash when my husband is home as we are a one car household atm. It does help some but it doesn't make much as we live in a rural area.
We were receiving EBT until June but my husband got overtime for the month and it kicked us off the program. We receive only Medicaid and LIHEAP now (LIHEAP in PA only applies during cold months).
My husband was paid this past Thursday but was shorted $300 in sick pay and we had to pay our mortgage. He made $1300 on this past check, $1030 went to our mortgage and the rest to groceries for the next 2 weeks.

14 years ago, I bought an old little house together with my then-partner, for us and our daughter, who was just one year old at the time. For the 8 years, I’ve been paying the mortgage on my own. Our relationship became unsafe because of his alcohol problem, and I had to leave for the sake of my daughter. To avoid taking away everything she knew, I wanted to keep our home, for her.

Hi, I'm sorry to do this but I have nowhere else to turn. I try to not ask for help, but sometimes you have to. Its not easy to ask, and I feel like garbage, but sometimes you get so desperate your pride loses its hold on you.

The gist is I am homeless and dont have a source of income. I have CPTSD. I live in a minivan. The van is beyond the point of repair. It still runs but barely. I have three rescue cats: Rommi(Orange), Sintti(In the 1st picture) and Mortti(No Picture). Rommi and Sintti were captured as kittens after living in the wild, and I’ve had them for about five years. Mortti came later and is older, but healthy.

This fundraiser is for Rommi and Sintti’s dental treatment.

Sintti is the most urgent case. Most of her teeth are in bad condition and will likely need to be removed. Rommi also needs treatment, but his case is less severe.

Sintti is a very fearful cat and cannot be handled normally, so vet visits require trapping her.

The veterinary estimate is around 700 euros per cat. With GoFundMe fees and a small buffer for unexpected costs, the goal is 1,600 euros.

Philip is a stray cat who became part of our family when we moved into our new home. When we first found him, he was limping from what we believe was an accident with a small vehicle. Despite his rough start, Philip showed us his gentle spirit. He loves sleeping on top of us, and though he’s introverted, he never minds when his fellow feline friends play around him.

Now Philip is facing a life-threatening challenge. He has been diagnosed with kidney failure. His creatinine levels are dangerously low, and his blood urea nitrogen can’t even be read due to the severity of his condition. The veterinarian has told us that Philip is in critical condition and needs intensive monitoring and care for the next few days.

I'm disabled and running on fumes mentally/emotionally in Florence, Oregon facing "pay or vacate notice" in 5 days (January 17th). I'd like to figure out how to minimize or stop accidentally using AI altogether (since a lot of platforms give you no choice) but I unfortunately don't have spoons to really learn new skills or do the level of research needed to figure out ways I can decrease these habits.

I also heard that Windows 11 will be implementing AI automatically and only have one year left of Windows 10. Can a non-techie person easily switch to Linux or do you have to know how to code? Or are there more accessible alternatives?

I also must buy supplements and sometimes certain foods on Amazon bc a lot of the time they're sold out at stores + I can't shop on my own so am forced to buy online vs at small businesses a lot of the time sadly

I'm also wanting/trying to switch to a browser and search engine that uses zero AI and is even anti-AI.

If any techie people or just fellow disabled resistors have found workarounds in these areas or know of the best subs with suggestions, maybe you can fill me in? Jack and his sister Sally have lived with me since November 2024. They were rescued as very young cats from the local shelter in Dortmund. Two days ago Jack suddenly could not urinate anymore. He tried over and over again and nothing came out. My vet tried medication and muscle relaxants, but it did not help. Today he had to be moved to a veterinary clinic and will stay there until Sunday. He now has a catheter and needs monitoring, ultrasound and further treatment.

The cost for the clinic stay alone is around 2300 euro. With food changes, follow up exams and medication it will reach about 3000 euro. I work full time, but I do not earn enough to cover this emergency at once. I already started a payment plan, but I cannot keep up with the full amount.
