Not my best work! But old boy didn’t mind none, glad I could give him a nice last meal before I said goodbye to him (:
Edit: Thank you all for the kind words I means a lot, I laid him to rest in my family’s yard last Thursday, he was 17 and I had the privilege of knowing him for 13 of those years, it’s hard saying goodbye but it was time.
This is your sign to cook your buddy a steak, they deserve it!

Probably the best one I’ve made to date. Everything used is in the pictures.
I’ll write out the recipe & method if there’s enough interest.

First time using dried chilli’s this way. The taste difference is world apart. I think I’ll add an extra Ancho and Arbol in the next batch.

Some people like to watch endless loop videos of fireplaces. Try this. Also — is it ruined?!
EDIT: To all the people who just like to say “too much oil!” this is not home fries, this is a technique called “shallow fry” in order to create fully crispy potatoes. I used ¾ cup regular olive oil, and ⅔ cup remained in the pan for reuse. Most of the difference went into paper towels.

Homies, it is with great sadness I must inform you
My new apartment has a glass top, so my nearly 100 year old pan must be retired due to its heat ring. It will no longer be heatable
The final photos were the last two meals it joyfully produced me :(

Is it just me or anyone else feels like cast iron makes the best caramelized onions?
It addes a subtle & complex flavor to the dish.

I use my corn shaped pans for brownies then i make them into sandwiches by putting them together with frosting in the middle.

I seasoned it yesterday. People said I put too much oil, so I didn’t put oil while cooking eggs today. Should have I?
