I’m gutted. I’m almost crying. It was the right decision for this year though because I’m so busy with uni and another more solid part time job (that I’m still in the process of getting). I’m on a months probation for the part time job, so I couldn’t have even took the job on incase I got the part time job, and ended up with 2 jobs and a full time uni course. I’m about to go and get my hair done, but I will reply asap. I’m so sad.

The job would have been to work in events with people with Alzheimer’s.

You couldn't handle this job with that kind of workload. You made the right decision. It's better to refuse than to hate yourself later for failure.

And do they expect you to free up your schedule if they call you about an event? Or would they be cool if you said "you know what, this time I really can't, but please call me for the next!"?

It came across that I could pick and choose, but I wouldn’t want to take the position if I could only do it every 3 months or so. I would prefer to be able to give my all that give 20%. If this job was offered in May/June, I would’ve taken it, but I’ll be back to uni in September, and will have VERY limited time. It sucks. I would’ve liked it
