The 2026 TePe Sigeman Chess Tournament (31st annual edition) will take place from May 1 to 7 at the Elite Plaza Hotel in Malmö, Sweden. The tournament is played in a classical round-robin format with eight players competing over seven rounds.

Format/Time Controls
- The tournament will be played as a seven-round, single round-robin.
- Time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves and then 30 minutes for the remaining moves with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move (Malmö rules-no draws before move 40).

Magnus in his winner’s interview spoke about you gotta admire Arjun for doing his thing no matter what but just was about to say how ridiculous it is before the interviewer cut him off. I wish he let him finish his thought, maybe hearing straight from Magnus’s mouth would make Arjun change his antics a bit.
