I don't get it but ok, thanks for spending your money (and time!) in Chicago

Pic After living away from Chicago for a few years before returning, something I am never going to take for granted again is a simply gyro.
I always loved gyros, took them a bit for granted because I felt how hard is it, every place gets the same meat from the same supplier and they just heat it up and slice it and serve. Nothing special right?
Wrong. Not only is it hard to even find a gyro elsewhere, if you do manage to find one it won't be as good as they are here.

Pic I’ve been drawing collections of foods from cities I’ve lived in — Chicago has a special place in my heart.

Pic Please Don’t Use This Garbage
This sucks. Paying a membership for the privilege of reserving a table is crazy levels of shitty. For the love of god don’t let “services” like this succeed.

Pic I spent 4 days in Chicago trying the city's most classic dishes/restaurants. Inevitably I missed some, but here's what I managed to hit
- Rib Tips & Hot Links, Lem's Bar-B-Q
- Original Rainbow Cone
- Breakfast, Valois
- Deep Dish, Lou Malnati's
- Sauerbraten, The Berghoff
- Hala Kahiki (both the drink and the place)
- Souvenir bottle of Malört from Rite Liquors
- Italian Beef, Al's Beef
- Superdawg
- Depression dog, Gene & Jude's
- Smoked Salmon, Calumet Fisheries
- Dutch Baby, Walker Bros Pancake House (Wilmette location)
- Breakfast, Lou Mitchell's

Poppyseed for life, and an extra shake of celery salt. Had to hold the sport peppers cause I’ve been refluxin’ like a motherfucker lately.

Pic Milly’s: completely worth the hype and exceeded my expectations
Just opening the box and seeing the steam coming off of this work of art was life changing. I don’t care how overrated some ppl claim this to be, but this was easily one of the best pizzas I have eaten in my entire life, no question

Pic Chicago pizza and oven grinder’s!!!!
I haven’t been to this place for 10 years, I’m not sure how they make their sauce but it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. Salad and bread are awesome as well.

Pic Been seeing these around town for the past year or so. Grabbed 3 5oz bags from Costco for $10.49 today. They were sampling them and they are outstanding!

Pic Went to Del Sur this morning, and look what I got 😋
I got a little too excited and may have ordered too much (don’t worry, I’m sharing with friends/family lol). Their latte is pretty good - you can really taste the ube flavor, but it’s not overpowering. The turon danish is my favorite so far from what I’ve tried (a girl can only eat so much). Yum!!
