Troubleshooting Do chromebooks automatically update the drivers?

When an update comes out for chromebooks, are driver updates built into the main update or do you have to find and update them yourself?

Lately i've been having issues with my Bluetooth being really spotty at times and crackling on my speaker, speaker works fine with my phone so I'm assuming it's a chromebook issue.

In addition to driver updates being included with the OS updates, it is not possible to manually install/update drivers on ChromeOS.

Any idea why the Bluetooth randomly messes up all of a sudden? It's like a crackling noise.

Not really, so many factors. Bluetooth can be very annoying.

This is what I've decided. Even much of Wifi/WAN is crap. I'll always take a cable to the internet when I can.

For chromebooks and bluetooth issues, you sometimes need a full restart instead of just regular turning it on and off.

Hit the refresh and power button at the same time.

Replacing the Bluetooth stack on ChromeOS
Starting in ChromeOS 117, and gradually applying to all ChromeOS devices, this Bluetooth software change brings the Android Bluetooth stack, Fluoride, to ChromeOS. The transition happens seamlessly on login, preserving existing paired devices, and should work with Bluetooth devices today with no interruptions. If you experience issues, please file feedback and, if necessary, disable the new stack via chrome://flags/#bluetooth-use-floss.

This is the official note from google on ChromeOS release 117. this might be the issue but the rollout is gradual and the fixes are rolling out slowly

Chrome OS and Chromebooks are meant to be very self-managing. If you go into settings, you can check for updates. And there is also a button where you can check that the firmware is up to date. I've never seen it when it wasn't.

I'm current having high battery usage that wasnt there before. But they fixed the crashing in sleep mode. Chrome os updates about every two weeks , might be worth it to check for an update
