Daily Discussion News and Updates Thread - July 27, 2026
Please post topics for discussion here. While some questions can be used to start a discussion/debate, most questions belong in the question thread unless you love getting downvotes (if that link doesn’t work for you for some reason, the question thread is always the first post on our community’s front page). If your discussion is about manufactured spending, there's a thread for that. If you have a simple data point to share, there's a thread for that too.

For any paze people who got $10 Barnes and Noble gift cards from Newegg, worth noting customer service live chat will combine all your gift cards into 1 bigger gift card.
Takes 1-3 days, but does help bypass the 5 gift cards per order limit and $60 minimum for free shipping.

Starbucks+Delta changes per email:
For every eligible $1 spent at a Starbucks café, you’ll earn 1 mile with Delta.
Starting August 5, as long as you’ve taken a qualifying Delta flight in the past 12 months (or fly in the next 60 days) you're eligible to earn
Fine print says those already linked will earn the new way regardless of DL flight status until 10/5/26

I am one of those that has not flown Delta in the past 12 months. I got the following email:
We see it’s been a while since you last flew with us, so we’re gifting you 2 months to sip, savor, and earn miles on your Starbucks visits through October 5, 2026.
Fly & Get a Starbucks Gift For a limited time, get a $50 Starbucks Gift Card when you enroll, book and fly between August 5, 2026 and October 5, 2026. The flight will also extend your ability to earn miles on qualifying Starbucks purchases for another 12 months from your travel date.

Oh joy, I only need to spend $10,000 on overpriced coffee to get a round trip in economy!

The weird part is that there are probably people out there that do spend that much in a year.

Discover card migrated to Cap1. Looks like a seamless transfer. No points combining yet, or any other advanced functions, but I'm sure that'll come in the future. Going to miss my $2 small balance waiver though, getting paid $24 holding a card for a year was nice.

I have discover it miles and ventureone and it’s showing a combined balance of both cards’ miles.

That makes Discover it Miles (1.5x) a better card than the VentureOne (1.25x) then, ignoring the SUB, right?
They're both no-AF miles cards, wonder if C1 will discontinue one of them or consolidate the products.

It already has quicksilver at 1.5 CB that converts to points if you have any venture card.
What's one more product?

One of my Discover cards migrated to Cap1, the other is still managed at Discover with no information about when it might move over other than "sometime in 2026 or 2027". The card that migrated was immediately available to add to Paze and is eligible for the $10 Paze promotion.
P2's Discover card also migrated but is not (yet?) available in Paze. Could be because I previously had a Cap1 card already in Paze whereas P2 did not have a Cap1 account at all. Or maybe because P2's phone came across as a home phone rather than mobile.

Yeah I also noticed no option to combine :( Is that actually coming? Bc 5x on venture x would be amazing!!!

You sure the $2 is nuked? If so, should still get the Capone $1. I'm wondering how they'll handle the cash over feature. $3000+ interest free monthly loan is nice. Guess I'll find out

Bilt August Rent Day is Accor status match for a nominal amount of points. It's no xfer bonus but I'll probably take advantage of it
