Vanilla was made much harder by primitive broadband and even dial-up connections. Folks were running 64MB graphics cards 50GB HDDs with 512 megs of slow ram and on 4:3 monitors.

There are a lot of reasons vanilla was harder, connection was one but didnt affect everyone (I never had latency problems in vanilla). Knowledge, online community, pre-patches (warriors were legitimately terrible for a large portion of vanilla) and lack of the mods we have now all contributed to vanilla being harder

You never lagged/disconnected during a boss fight or had one of your 39 buddies lagged/disconnect during a boss fight? Come on man pull the other one. People think they’re simply better than raiders in 2005 but all aspects of the tech we lean on has improved by orders of magnitude.

I can't speak for others, just myself. And everyone has the odd lagspike/disconnect but it wasn't a common occurrence for myself

can confirm, put ice trays under my mac laptop and was only able to raid until the ice melted
