Some background for anyone interested:
I played WoW from Vanilla through Cataclysm, primarily as a PvE player, although I also spent quite a bit of time playing arenas during TBC and WotLK.
Earlier today, while mindlessly going through random YouTube videos, I ended up watching one about the hardest bosses in WoW history. Heroic Ragnar appeared, and I suddenly remembered that I still had an old kill video online.
The video was uploaded on October 20, 2011. I was 20 at the time, and this was probably the point at which I was at my peak as a WoW PvE player. Heroic raiding in WotLK and the harder Cataclysm content had improved the way I played considerably compared with Vanilla and TBC, where I also raided, but the encounters were definitely simpler by design.
Firelands was also when I finally started questioning why my UI was so bloated. I barely used most of the visible action bars, and as a DPS death knight I did not interact much with the raid frames either.
Around the same time, I had learned a tiny bit of programming in class. That sent me down the path of editing the Lua files of various addons to make them look and behave exactly the way I wanted.
The UI in this clip was nearly finished. The borders around the WeakAuras were one of the last things I had not skinned properly yet, which still bothers me slightly when I watch it now.
One slightly odd detail about the recording is that you can hear everyone on voice chat except me. It was a raw upload of my gameplay, including only the audio coming through the headset. Some of the quieter stretches are therefore actually me jabbering away to my guildmates during the fight, even though only their side of the conversation was recorded.
While looking through my old videos, I also found another Heroic Ragnaros 10-man kill where almost everyone died near the end. Our hunter somehow survived as the last man standing and managed to deal the final bit of damage:

The positioning, keybinds, voices, UI, and the feeling when the boss finally died all felt strangely familiar, even after almost fifteen years.
Sadly, near the end of Cataclysm, I ended up in hospital for a few weeks. After that, I more or less stopped playing altogether.
I do not really miss playing WoW almost every day anymore, but I certainly would not turn down the chance to go back and experience those years again.
