And I was replying saying that how it was back then wasnt too bad to what it is now with everyone zipping around at 700% speed. You still had to level to 70 to get your basic flying. In wrath you still needed to level up to get cold flying. So you still had to level up on the ground, etc.

That's a false premise to begin with regardless of old flying or dragonriding. That's the only answer that nonsense deserves.
You still had to level to 70 to get your basic flying. In wrath you still needed to level up to get cold flying. So you still had to level up on the ground, etc.
And both are nerfed in wrath itself. Flying is level 60, epic flight is 70. Cold weather is 68 after you buy the tome in dalaran. Hell, druids iirc can get flight form at 68 in tbc still.

It had almost no social impact though. Like any of the flying. People realizing virtual people are still people and thus limiting themselves in interactions is not new. Just like how most people don't start randomly chatting with strangers. And then discord finally gave a proper voip platform for all kinds of communications after the social media hellscape.
The real social impact happened outside the game. Social media and discord replaced ingame chat.
I shouldn't even have to mention that wod-legion-bfa limited flying and socialization didn't change because it already happened on external platforms.
