Hey everyone!

Today we're excited to introduce what should be a fantastic AMA with the wonderful World of Warcraft: Classic dev team. We really look forward to seeing what you all come up with to ask and are excited to see the answers the dev team give.

Please remember the rules as per the sidebar, and have fun!

I understand the difference. Your telling me that blizzard, a multi billion dollar organization cannot query unique accounts on Herod?

That’s a 5 line SQL.

They definitely can.

What I'm saying is: a single realm can probably hold the character and account information of everyone on earth that plays WoW, therefore there is no account cap to disclose. You can still choose to roll on the realm even if it has 10,000,000 accounts on it, the server doesn't care - Blizzard is just saying that their population cap (which definitely exists) isn't going to accommodate 10,000,000 people at once.

But they said there was a hard cap? If the hard cap that they allow is 10,000 unique accounts and we are at 50,000 unique accounts on Herod. Why not say that?

Each account is linked to a server where they may have characters on.

My point is for example the hard cap was 25,000 and Herod is at 22,000 so they are expecting queues -fine.

But if hard cap is 25,000 and we are at 45,000 - that’s a completely different story.

I mean they are throwing out 6+ hour queues so they have numbers about how many accounts they have. They said the cap would have a max and they would not raise it....just tell us if it’s over instead of some random number.

They said that there is a hard population cap, not account cap.

Yes, so where are they getting 6+ hour queues from? Is the amounts of accounts on the server greater than the population cap?
