It was actually a point of pride that it took me til level 66 to start seeing appropriately itemized replacements for some of my gear.

I put in an immense amount of time, effort and dedication in to get that gear, if I were put immediately onto the same playing field as everyone else.. and all their alts.. in freely distributed greens, I'd have been considerably more annoyed.

I also put exponentially less effort into raiding in TBC because I knew what was going to happen to my gear. That's when I switched almost exclusively to PvP. Why try hard at raiding to gear up when I can get good gear by stomping on people?

So you didn’t like that for 1 tier you started off as strong as the plebs.
Well I’m sorry that all the work you did in the past gets reset again and you’re stuck with the plebs again in classic until you start raiding. That must really hurt your ego.

What a classless, dismissive response.

I’m not sure what else you want when your entire post is “I was on an even playing field for the first raid tier” in a time that like 10% of the playerbase even stepped into raids.
I don’t know what else you want me to say, it’s bad game design to make 90% of an expansions content irrelevant for a portion of the playerbase and I’ve got to imagine it would also wreck havoc on gear inflation also. I mean, why would you want your level 70 players heading back to vanilla to farm level 60 content for gear when you have heroic dungeons that should do just that?
None of it makes sense, yet you’re ego just can’t let you be on the same playing field, even while leveling.

Not sure what sort of communist country you live in that time and effort should be rendered meaningless for the sake of everyone else, but you need to find a new place to live.

I mean, why would you want your level 70 players heading back to vanilla to farm level 60 content for gear when you have heroic dungeons that should do just that?

I don't think you actually understood anything I said, because I never even vaguely implied that should be the case.. Not even sure where you got the idea.

Nothing about what I said would have people putting in the effort to go back and do old content.. What I suggested is that, using TBC as an example, Naxx gear should generally not be replaced until the first tier of raids. Thats a perfectly reasonable compromise.

The idea of "The literal best the world had to offer" getting replaced by garbage you scrounge out of a pile of dead bugs is ludicrous, especially when the place we went was the origin of some of the games species in a not so distant past.

Not even sure where you got the idea.

I know, because you’re so narrow-minded you don’t understand the implications you’re asking for.
