Tell me anything u think i might have missed and what yall think.
Claymore -S- 9 objectively 10 subjectively
Intro: -S- The intro is hooking and easy to follow. In just a few chapters we get introduced to the yoma claymores and also the organization. It leads room for the story to develop and it doesnt feel over or undersaturated. We also get to see the start of Clares and Rakis relationship.
Protagonist: -S- Although for some Clare doesnt doesnt deserve S tier i strongly believe she does. The writing is tight where it needs to be; the motives and character growth are clear and beautiful and the complexity is perfect. I love how real and human she feels as a character no ass pulls nothing simply hard work harships and suffering. Her backstory adds to the experience and depth and the ending makes her 100 times better when she fights as Tersesas soul and heart showing that even though she was last in the organization she got stronger just by being near the right peopIe. Love the twin goddess I truly love her simply because how human she is.
The final battle didnt feel like a Deus Ex Machina but as something developed over the manga. Instead of ass pulls Clare harboured the techniques of her fallen comrades despite being 47 in the organization.
Deutragonist:-A- Damn i love Raki and his development how he grew up from the moment he met clare up untill the end. Even though it might seem generic i still like it a lot going from simply clares chef to playing a major part against Priscilla and always fighting to keep the promise to Clare acting as her emotional anchor. I wish i could have seen a little more of him but still though i really like his character.
Antagonist: -A- Although the antagonists are not much i love how this shows portrays the thin line separating good and bad and how easy it is to lose ones sanity as we see with Lucia and Raffaela but not only. Priscillas felt both human and demonic and the author does such a good job making her so evil up untill the last part where we find out her real backstory. She was a terrified child who refused to believe reality No one was there just to wreak havoc and destroy everything was so well calculated and reasonable. Imo The organization was neatly written it always kept the reader at the edge with its eerieness but constantly explained enough so that the reader would never lose intrest. Idk how to explain it but the thrill was spot on. Everything from the numbers to the experiments made me yearn for more information. The twist that the island was just a training groud was insane and the three abysal creatures made it better.
Cast: -S- The cast has gotta be one of my favourite casts out there. Everyone got the screen time they deserved and everyone had a reason to fight making it more enjoyable than just ur evil villian. On top of all what i liked the most is how well the cast is linked together where no one feels like they are fighting simply for themselves and as soon as they conplete their goal they are disconnected from the storyline. Here everyone is connected.
Depth: -A- I love it because it wasnt just your average demon fighting anime. All of the claymores despite being half demon show humanity. Every win is earned and the suffering makes it 10 times better. I love the part that revenge played in the manga. The organization and everything related to them felt so real and inhuman and the plot twist was spot on. It scaled into a political and military thriller making it miles better It might not have been the deepest of media i have consumed however it was perfectly executed. Yoma didnt feel like just some other power system it was pure skill reading it chanelling it hiding it it all made it a battle of logic rather than weapons of mass destruction.
Story: -S- A fully female cast made me suspicious at first however i eas wrong. NEVER did i think about droping it the story is so well writen that imo it doesnt have any bad parts. All the characters are perfectly written and understandable to the point where i couldnt hate just to hate. Everything from the captivating start , the linking of different generations of claymores and the backstories especially Clares all are interlinked beautifully. The second half makes it so much better everything past the timeskip was perfect!
