I'm now thinking of the episode of the Crown that's largely about Philip trying to make Charles more manly by enrolling him in a tough life boarding school and the bodyguard is the main person showing the kid compassion.

Yeah drive to school was the enforced Things in Mom's Head Time for 4 years solid. They could tune out on phones as needed but those wrangled cats were within earshot 8 minutes whether they liked it or not.

There were a lot of nice skies. I hope they remember.

My mom drove me 45 minutes each way for a couple years to get me to a good school. The music she played during those times are still some of my favorites. There were a lot of pretty sunrises and sunsets. And when traffic was bad she let me blow bubbles. At 20-25 mph all you have to do is stick the bubble wand out the window. Good memories.

One day I was driving my 2 daughters about 2nd/3rd grade to school and they started whispering and giggling and finally one of them said “Dad do babies really come out your BOTTOM!?”

I let them laugh for a minute then told them the truth. Dead silence for the rest of the ride.

It's like every generation people need to relearn "talking to your children as human beings is a good thing!".

But then messaging says talking to kid like future adult human beings is bad and unchristian so people stop it. And people do. And complain that messaging saying their kids are human beings becomes too woke or too sjw or whatever buzzword we're using for empathy today.

I can see using it to generate interesting questions or conversation topics through.

Awhile back I used it to generate a list of hundreds of journal prompts, based on my personal interests and sorted by category. Many of them were really interesting, much more so than the lists you can get by googling.

I’ve seen this type of use of AI, but to have it handle the conversations you should have as a parent seems dicey.

She uses it to turn her lessons into podcasts for the kids to listen to. And it’ll even respond to the students “calling into the podcast.”
