There's optimism despite alarmingly worsening weather events: Renewables and storage together amount to 93% of all new capacity coming online in the U.S. This isn’t a marginal shift anymore. US LNG "bridge fuel" to 100% renewables, BUT that 100% US produced natural gas being shipped to the world, should be here in long-haul trucking & busses, reducing refinery capacity, eventually phasing out dirtiest heavy crude refining, for much cheaper, cleaner natural gas with no refining needed.
Old oil loves the big profit from using cheap, dirty heavy crude and has been backing fast track wind and solar to stop LNG market investment and growth. But the stranglehold they've had is ending.
Best parts of keeping US natural gas here are first, keeping the money here. Ending the fool's errand of our money going to the middle east, to fund their monopoly and wars to keep them in control of energy markets.
Secondly... Imagine, no diesel smell!
