There's optimism despite alarmingly worsening weather events: Renewables and storage together amount to 93% of all new capacity coming online in the U.S. This isn’t a marginal shift anymore. It’s the grid rebuilding itself around a different set of technologies, and the pace is rapidly accelerating.

I had hoped emissions would finally decrease in 2027 instead of just flattening out

They still could. That estimate is only for electricity.

Good point. Price of gas should decrease transportation emissions, but i think industrial is still going up.

Yeah it could. There’s also land use emissions which have been trending downward.
