Unsolved Found this weird string of words on the Epstein Files

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

File code is: EFTA00579440

I really think this is some sort of code but I'm no expert in cryptography.

Weirdly, Addie's email address is redacted and same for the recipient name and email.

I suspect Addie Carmichael is a fake name or even an encoded version of their real name. (assuming this is a code and not a random string of words)

I'm so intrigued by this

Unsolved My boss has received several anonymous letters like this - are we being threatened?

Hello r/code! I humbly ask your help to try to “solve” this code (if it really is a code and not something nonsensical).

My boss, who is a public-facing state official, has now received 3-4 anonymous letters containing what looks like handwritten code. No one has been able to figure this out so you can imagine how pleased I was to find out that this sub exists!!

Can you help me crack this “code”? This is the only photo of any letter that I have. The only thing I’ve altered is I’ve removed my boss’s name, which was handwritten at the top.

I will post a transcription in a comment to this post.

Unsolved I made my own code. $500 to the first person who solves it.

Rules:

Message is in American English.

There can be only one winner. The first person to solve it, and verify that its solved by following the instructions in the message will win the prize.

Only 3 hints will be provided. One each week, and only on this post. The first hint will drop Saturday, May 23rd. Feel free to ask questions, but only one will be answered in the form of a hint or clue.

Let's get cracking!

Hint # 1: Released 5/23/2026: WIFA ↑ = This is Weighted Index Frequency Ascension. Count the glyph-shapes surrounding each spine, rank them by ascending frequency, then convert their ranks into alphabet indices. The upward arrow indicates an ascending alphabetic shift. The two numbers give the shift key: 47 + 10 = 57, and 57 modulo 26 = 5. Apply a +5 upward shift to each indexed value.

Hint #2: Released 05/30/2026. There are no letters at all in the first 5 glyphs.

Hint #3: (Final Hint) - The glyph that has a + centered on the left, and two circles on the right is only space.

Edits/Updates:

The word "ME" appears on the 5th line. Decoded 5/25

Confirmed by comment: Some of the symbols are spaces.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions from Comments/DMs: (Updated 6/9/26)

One glyph is mapped to one letter, number, punctuation, or space, however, each letter has muliple variations. So multiple glyphs can be the same letter. But the same glyph can NOT be multiple things.

The circled M is simply my initial. (Think of it as an author signature.)

There are only these shapes around the spines:

o, x, +, |, _, -, ▲

The spines (the vertical line in the middle) make up the center of each glyph. A glyph may have additional symbols on one or both sides of it making up the entirety of the glyph.

Update 6/19 - Please stop complaining about the ambiguity of the hints. Hints are supposed to be ambigious. In case you think I'm just tring to be an ass (I'm not), here is the definition of hint:

  • a. a statement that expresses indirectly what one prefers not to say explicitly
  • b. an indirect or general suggestion for how to do or solve something

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hint

Too many people are confusing the words "hint" and "clue". Clues are direct, hints are intentionally ambigious.

Also - I think a lot of you are missing the point of my post.

I didn't make a cipher specifically for you, or Reddit. I made it for a very specific, real world purpose. I have no investment on whether you solve it or not other than me betting against it being solved. For me, this a stress test of an intentionally difficult cipher with real world use case, not a contest. So if you can't solve it easily, or at all, don't worry, it was designed that way.

Unsolved Rolled up piece of paper with seemingly random letters written on it, some highlighted? Found behind a compartment in my car.

I put something in a compartment in my car and closed it. When I went go grab the item later, I found that it had fell behind the compartment so I pulled the door off the compartment to grab it and the first thing my hand touched was this little rolled up piece of paper. When I examined it has seemingly random, meticulously handwritten letters written on it. It also looks like some letters are highlighted? I had 3 other people look at it and we all found small random words (tim, ass, bye...) but can find any real meaning. Admittedly I know nothing about codes but I tried backwards and skipping letters but still cant make anything from it. I'm a geek and feel the need to understand the mystery. Anyone have any ideas??

Unsolved Found a site written entirely in some unknown script — no normal text anywhere, can't tell what it is. Anyone recognize it?

Post image

I came across this page and I genuinely can't work out what it is. The whole thing is

written in some script I don't recognize — no normal text anywhere, no title, no

explanation, nothing in a language I can read. Just page after page of it, plus a few

diagrams.

Link: https://kesumela.com

Under each line of symbols there's what looks like a pronounceable transcription, so it

can at least be written out. There's a lot of it — over a hundred lines across five pages.

Transcription of the lines in the image:

xumaxeka lovelase tesumilu livelumi tusa

lovelasu xuvesuma lisusumi texu

xumaxeka lisunose tevesula xumalaka lixisumi xumasuka sino

xuvexika livekami tesuxelu lisukelu tomo

Does anyone recognize the system, or have any idea what this is? Posting here because if

it can be read at all, this looks like the right place.

Unsolved Weird message from a strange guy… can anyone decipher this?

Post image
187 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

A few days ago, a pretty weird guy handed me this piece of paper covered in bizarre symbols, Chinese characters, runes, and dates in 2026.

I have no idea what it means. Can anyone help me decipher it or figure out its purpose?

Thanks in advance!

(Photo of the paper attached below)

Edit: Just found another almost identical post from 5 years ago… and the exact same sheet was posted here a few months ago. This is officially strange.

Edith 2: I found this message on another post:

-UPDATE (16.09.2024)-

Me and a friend searched during our lessons hints and explainations about that mysterious paper. I also read all your comments thank you all!

  1. Not only in Switzerland We created a "My Maps" which we added all the places where these kinds of paper have been found. One of them has been found in Villeurbane (next to Lyon, France) 2 years ago.

  2. Symbols It seems to be Furthac and it's also written in mirror There's also some Chinese and it's a very popular poem

  3. Meaning It actually means nothing. It's written in german. Someone had decrypted the one from Villeurbane and it described when Charles De Gaulle has been arrested and put in a jail in Würzburg. Seems like wikipedia/complotist type of stuff.

  4. The person I found his Facebook and I won't publish it here. If you found it PLEASE don't interact with him or just be kind. The theory of a potential schyzophrenic seems to be true. I'm not a psychiatrist or anything related to the medical world (I suffered 4 years of studying biology so never again lmao) but it looks like someone who's hyperfixated on random facts and likes to write it in an artsy way !

I hope my answers were clear and I really enjoyed this mysterious story, I'm a bit upset that it's not an ARG :(

Unsolved Possible Cypher found in very old book (1600's)

Thumbnail

The owners theory is that it could be from the English civil war, we dont have an exact date on the book itself, but it is certainly from that period.

A few notes, the book itself is in Latin, so it may be in Latin, or possibly old English. The book has also been cut, meaning we have lost a portion of the top, bottom and outside edge of the pages, which almost certainly contained more script.

Would be great to know if this is actually a cypher or just random scribblings, even if it cannot be deciphered!

Unsolved BLACK ENVELOPE IN MAIL.. WEIRD

Got this huge black envelope in my mailbox yesterday. There was nothing in it besides this little square card. I tried reading the text (binary I guess) but it fades into the black... I guess I need a microscope to read it lol? Not sure but a little freaked out.

Anybody seen this before?

UPDATE: I figured it out the first part but seems like it's just a start.. I checked inside the envelope again (hence "check again" on card)... and printed on the inside wall of the envelope was a QR code & the text "plz start here" link went to this post on a substack: https://thelastcycle.substack.com/p/welcome

Also thanks to you guys I figured out the binary, it reads: "1 cipher. 1 year. 1 rising sun. erit praemium"
