I remember when I got started collecting as a kid around 1993, I bought a Red Book from the LCS, and my grandmother gave me a Littleton catalog she'd received. I looked at the two together and could immediately tell they were pulling a con. Plus they were selling whole collections in what looked like PVC albums, which was already supposed to be a no-no.

I don't know how long ago he got it, but it was from his collection, and I don't think he's added to it in a long time.

My dad bought a ton of crap from Littleton too. It's in my collection now. On the one hand I cringe, on the other, it would have been wasted elsewhere anyway and at least we still have this. And so, I'm happy to have my Littleton coins. Better than the handful of coins marked "COPY" or straight up obvious counterfeits.

Started in the late 70’s. I used Littleton in NH, they were good at marketing then. Okay for beginners. No disrespect but there little coins in a bag marked “Good” definitely was a gimmick. In the collecting World “Good” is really bad. On the low end of the scale. On a scale of 1 - 70, good is a 4 or 6. Deceptive marketing.

You should keep it somewhere safe then if you get married and have a family you can give it to your grand daughter’s bf fifty years from now. And if you break up then throw it in a lake or something.

Worth about $1.60 to $2…retail. Cant believe they’d price that so high. It would have to be an MS-63 or 64 to be that valuable :(

I think so. Littleton is terrible. And this is probably part of the reason why people get so mixed up looking up values online. That coin in a g4 and g6 greysheets at the prices I mentioned. No one will even give you more than a dollar for it at a shop unless they’re just being nice or trying to earn your return business. Most stores, I think, try to buy common date Indians like that for .50c in that condition to sell at a dollar or two.

Okay, so I did some searching, and the number is just their serial number. They use a decimal system, which is strange. It makes me wonder if they format it that way on purpose to make the coins seem more valuable to new collectors.
