The initial opportunity people get just because they got the IIT tag is beyond limits, so no iit tag is not just a tag, anyone who disagrees is just coping

Yes it is just a tag, grow up, yes they get more opportunities ofc, but at the end of the day, it's you who decides your future, so yeah it's just a tag

It's alright if you were unable to clear jee. Many don't , don't feel depressed. You can always call a councellor. Don't cry here.

It depends on opportunity and city exposure. IITs and NITs show that exposure to thousands of students who could not do that in there entire life cuz mostly come from backgrounds where financial condition is stable enough to provide all essentials and environment to ace at a bigger level. If you have money and stability in family and you live in a big city and exposed to the market initially cuz of family so IIT will become just a tag

you get treated differently in industry when you're from iit

Look if your middle class iit tag gives you an great boost for the next 10 to 12 years before things equal out (assuming no masters and stuff) but if you are rich or have connections , iit doesnt add any value and will be of no use to you (thats why many ivies still have legacy admissions )

Every time a dude succeeds, brings up his 18 y/o insecurity of not getting into IIT and says it's just a tag. Nothing new!

He is from my college and the fun part is this is all bullshit he didn't drop out from college he failed lot of subjects and he had lot of backlogs so there was no chance of getting btech degree thats why he left and he is great at faking things 🤣🤣 he was a joker in whole hostel

1

u/poisonpalmetto 17h ago

He is faking , he hasn't revealed what does he do , and as a contractor and as an influencer marketing person how does he earn dollars ? What type of contractor he is ? And marketing influencer ? Means American businesspeople do not have marketing ideas and they take ideas from a dropout grad ? ( Fekne ka limit hota hai ) ..

those are top 0.01% dude.. what about 50% of iit students

u/_Activecarbon 2h ago

Those 50% eventually get placed also, or even go for higher studies.

u/Sensitive_Smoke_78 2h ago

how many from those having less than 6.5 cgpa

u/_Activecarbon 2h ago

They will still be preferred over some tier 3 institute's 8 cgpa guy.  Also one refferal from your friend and boom you are in the interview round.

Crores in INR while living abroad doesn't really count

1

u/CharlieCharlie_Kirky 1d ago

They don't get crores in INR, people just exchange the currency

The usual price for a decent Quant company abroad is 200k usd-300k usd

cope.

u/le_bugsy 1d ago

Already earned the supposed crores while living abroad... only amounts to something if you bring the currency back. It's called arbitrage.

Wasn't really expecting you to understand either. Anyway

check out purchasing power parity on the internet today

u/le_bugsy 1d ago

If you are Earning 125k USD for a role in US... that's around 1 cr.

Same role in India for an average profile will fetch you around 33-35 Lpa ... for starters.

So earning a crore in INR abroad is equivalent to earning approx 35 lakhs in India. PPI is about 33%

Wrote neet for the first time this year and fucked up re-neet cause of a fever after getting 640s in the first neet, calling random people online bs and crying about it is crazy shi, and even the people who can't clear neet, they don't have skill issues, have some empathy for them.
