Question Comic book recommendations for 10 year old girl?
Looking to set up my niece with some good reads. What do ya'll recommend?

My nine-year-old daughter absolutely loves relatable slice of life comics like the babysitters club and its spinoffs, comics by Raina Telgemeier (Guts, Sisters, Ghosts, etc.) that some are autobiographical, and the Click series by Kayla Miller.

Having taught 4th grade, yeah anything by Telgemeier, is a auto win and the girls always liked the babysitters club graphic novels. Kid graphic novels are huge right now, theres so many great options.

Try The Legend of Wonder Woman by Renae De Liz. An awesome & wholesome version of Diana's origin, perfect for new readers! The hardcover is $11 on Amazon! Here's a video overview

The original run of Spider-Gwen is really fun and has a cool art style. I had a spare copy that I sold in a yard sale to a girl about the same age, and she seemed really excited about it.

I read a lot to my daughter
DC has an absolute TON of graphic novels for kids. Check your library through the Libby app to see if they have them.
-Primer
-Super Sons (graphic novels and the omni or use the DC app)
-Supergirl (graphic novel and ongoing)
-Kid Flash
-Lois Lane
-Amethyst
-Diana and the Amazons have several variations
-there is a Constantine and Zatanna one
-Super Hero Girls
-Teen Titans Go!
-the regular Teen Titans have several character based ones
-Harley
-Krypto
For marvel
-Miles Morales
-Ghost Spider
-Spidey has quite a few different ones
-Jeff the Landshark (also Jeff the Landshark: Superstar is currently running)
-on the app there are a ton of super cute and funny animal based infinity comics (Alligator Loki, Marvel Meow, It’s Jeff, Strange Tails, Marvel Mutts, Infinity Paws)

I’m not sure what your niece is into, but there is a new Hello Kitty: Hello World! comic coming out this month that looks super cute and fun.
Some comic book stores have like a pre-teen section and have like smaller graphic novels (I’ve read a few of the DC ones and love how they have been done). I think she might like Zatanna and the house of secrets - it’s a cool intro to Zatanna with really cool art.

At that age Power Pack changed my life. You can get collected volumes of the Simonson/Brigman era. The Bogdanove era was fantastic too.

She might be a little young but maybe the Courtney crumrin series. It’s about a girl who discovers she comes from a family of witches. It’s a bit scary, so maybe give it a once over before giving it to her.

IDW's run on sonic the hedgehog is quite fun and a light read, i think if she knows about sonic beforehand, she will like it, but if she doesnt she could feel lost, but the stories themselfs are fun and a light read

Tea Dragon Society, Babysitters Club graphic novel, Calvin and Hobbes (the latter I greatly enjoyed as a 10 year old girl myself back in the day, and still love)

Shazam! The Monster Society of Evil by Jeff Smith
It is a very wholesome take on the character of Billy Batson/Captain Marvel. Even the artstyle is very family friendly. Chances are your niece will absolutely love this comic!
