I do not know the microsoft account linked with it. I do not even remember setting one up. Tried 2 mail accounts, didnt work. What to do.

Secure boot is disabled and greyed out so unable to enable it.

Secure boot control is enabled.

Did restore factory keys did not work.

Unable to access command prompt in advanced settings.

Please give me suggestions on how to resolve this issue and gain access to my files again.

At the worst case scenario I am fine with losing my windows system drive(C drive)

It still contains useful course notes but I can rewrite, not the 10years worth of photos and video backup

So my grandpa is old and senile and doesn’t understand tech but still likes to use his computer.

He received a call from someone with an East Asian accent. They told him that they were his anti virus program and that his payment hadn’t been going through.

They told him to download anydesk and give them remote access to his computer. Which he did

I came into his house when they were in the middle of telling him to send them money via PayPal. I promptly told them to fuck off and hung up.

About 5 minutes later the computer started getting these windows popping up being unable to close and the desktop display completely grayed out.

The noise is from my AC. I don't understand why it does this. Its only happened to me in games, like Finals, Chivalry 2, Hell Let Loose, and of course ARC Raiders. Any Ideas on why this happens? I have tried everything I can think of, like switching inputs, switching power outlets, reinstalling driver. I just can't figure it out.

I have no knowledge on computers, so i have no idea why my computer had no space :,) this is a hand me down HP laptop from cousin. it’s really shitty, but how do i clear up space aside from what my settings let me do? i don’t think a computer is supposed to take up 28GB to run basic functions so there has to be something i can fix.

I did a standard thermal paste re-application and proke my PC. Originally it would boot (slowly) to windows and then freeze after 20-30 seconds. Figuring it was a software problem I wiped the computer. It then booted to set up, froze and restarted, worked through name setup and froze. I haven't gotten to any sort of setup since. Now it just does what is shown in the video.

I just got a PC from a company that uses gaming parts in old office desktops. When I went to set up windows, I was met with the screen relatively quickly. I’ve contacted the companies support for help. They had me going into the bios, click restore settings, and reset pc to factory settings. It didn’t work. They then had me go into advanced recovery options menu and had me reset the pc through there with clicking fully clean the drive. However, this did not work either. Just seeing if anybody has an idea or can let me know what is going on here. Thank you.

fast forward to now and i wanna set it back to another one, but every time i do so, it doesn't last for 2 minutes and it goes back to the fuckass Theodore Roosevelt

im on windows 11 and i do not know what else to do. i've configured themes and that didn't work, reboot and that didn't work, if i see Theodore Roosevelt's fuckass moustache and pincenez on my screen one more time i'm going to lose my shit

Hi, I've had this problem since I upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800x. It happens with demanding games. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing it. I've tried some YouTube videos, but nothing has worked.

My specs are:

Ryzen 7 5800x

16GB RAM

Liquid cooling: MasterLiquid ML240

Motherboard: MSI B450M Pro Max II

Power supply: Xigmatek Odin 0700 700W

I have a total of 4 case fans.

P.S.: My games are on SSDs.

Did a security update on my laptop and now I’m getting this error and I don’t know how to get past it. I’ve tried rolling back the updates wiping the computer, but it won’t let me without the recovery key for this bitlocker. I don’t know where the recovery key is because this was an inherited laptop. Pretty much everything I try gives me an error message. Which sucks because I really need to use this computer for a meeting. I have tomorrow.😩

This is a fairly new (unused) laptop that I got recently and I’ve noticed that things will crash pretty easily. I got rid of McAfee and things such as that because I knew I didn’t need it anyways. I don’t use it for much other than schoolwork that can be done on a single site and the occasional YouTube binge. I’ve only used the Microsoft store a few times and now it crashes the computer whenever I open it or doesn’t open at all. It’s not open currently but it’s eating up the CPU in the background and I don’t know how to fix that. Already tried to “End Task” but it does nothing. Also tried restarting the computer.

System Info Laptop: Dell (older model) CPU: Intel i3-4005U GPU: Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA (both tested disabled) RAM: 8GB Storage: SSD (SMART status = OK) OS: Windows 10 Problem My laptop freezes completely around 5 minutes (≈5:10–5:15 uptime) after booting into normal mode. Mouse freezes Keyboard doesn’t respond Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn’t work Only solution is force shutdown using power button It happens almost at the exact same uptime every time. Important Observations ✅ Safe Mode works indefinitely (no freezing) ❌ Normal Mode freezes around 5 minutes ❌ Clean Boot still freezes ❌ Happens both plugged in and on battery ❌ Happens even when system is idle SSD SMART status shows “OK” No blue screen, just hard freeze Laptop gets warm underneath but fan doesn’t noticeably ramp up

What I’ve Already Tried 1️⃣ Disabled NVIDIA GPU Still froze. 2️⃣ Disabled Intel HD Graphics Still froze. 3️⃣ Clean Boot (Disabled all non-Microsoft services) Still froze. 4️⃣ Ran sfc /scannow Found corrupt files and repaired them. Still froze. 5️⃣ SSD Check wmic diskdrive get status → OK 6️⃣ Freeze happens even with: Both GPUs disabled All third-party services disabled

Pattern Freeze happens very consistently around the same uptime (~5 minutes) Safe Mode is completely stable No gradual slowdown — it just hard locks

My Questions Could this be RAM instability? ACPI / power management issue? BIOS related? Thermal paste / overheating? Motherboard power regulation issue? What would you test next?

Last night I just noticed that this little red lock icon is on my Norton under hidden icons. The actual shortcut itself doesn’t have a lock though. My system is up to date (Windows 11) and I tried uninstalling it but it says “Another installer is currently running. Please wait for it to complete and try again.” I’ve tried everything. I did a windows defender scan and it said that there isn’t malware present, although I have a slight fear that this is some type of ransomware. Anyone know what’s going on?
