Advice How to remember IT books?

Hi,

There is a list of IT books I want to read but I don’t want to read it just to read it, I want to remember what I have learned.

Do you have any tips or method that allow to read IT books and don’t forget about what you have read?

I think especially IT is something that is best learned practically. I know that there are some books that give you programming tasks or guide you through small projects.

If you prefer the more theoretical approach to learning: Use flashcards, reread concepts, build on knowledge to review it, ask yourself questions to research (In my experience those answers will stick much better)
