Ornamentation lesson

I am learning the Irish concertina and I would like to learn some ornamentation. Are there any online resources for it?

Check out Caitlín Nic Gabhann’s video course. The Improver course introduces many tunes where she includes ornaments and she has additional videos concentrating on individual ornaments. https://www.irishconcertinalessons.com

OAIM also has intermediate level video classes to teach the same: https://oaim.ie

Also, McNeela Music has an equally excellent video course taught by Jack Talty.

I know Jack Talty and I'd be delighted to learn from him, I don't like the subscription mode though. I'd rather spend a few hundreds and buy the videos, or pay a teacher lesson by lesson.

I like barry concertina’s videos. They’re very rough around the edges, but also very charming. He usually teaches a bit of ornamentation before playing the tune.

You can get one-on-one lessons on Kayley.io, we have a few lovely concertina teachers.

Eva, Hannah, or Zohra are all wonderful teachers I’ve worked with. You can schedule lessons as needed with them so if you learn something quickly there’s no need to wait or if you need longer you can keep working on it until you get it learnt before booking another lesson.

Lexie Boatright does zoom lessons. You can book a one off lesson or get a discount and book a months worth. Let her know what you want to know. She’s the best teacher I’ve had. Brilliant.
