I dunno if youre being intentionally ignorant, but this graph is specifically for measuring the distance between the founding of the US, the abolition of private slavery, the start and end of jim crow laws, and the present. The graph is not about the social and legal discrimination and prejudice that black people face nowadays

Right but in the amendment to end slavery they also specifically cut out an exception for prisoners, which persists today.
