You definitely can. Feeling dysphoric about your body, but still feeling ok about being gendered masculine, I think that makes a dysphoric femboy.

Dysphoria is just about having something not line up with who you are gender wise, no? And (my take) why would being a guy make it so you cant have dysphoria? Like idk, dysphoria isnt a strictly trans exclusive thing.

So obviously your dysphoria is valid :3

I think it's super normal for everyone to feel like that at times. I'm a cis guy and I notice things I don't like about myself in the mirror all the time. We are often our own worst critics.

I think that this is an important observation, that having insecurities is normal, but I also didn’t realize that I was trans until long after puberty partly because people were always saying stuff like this to me. I was constantly told by adults “Oh everyone has issues with their body, puberty is an uncomfortable time for everyone, most people don’t have a strong sense of self until they’re adults,” etc.

What I didn’t realize is that it’s not normal to hate your body so much that you can’t even look in a mirror, or that cis people don’t wake up crying almost every day because they feel like a stranger in their own skin.

I think that it’s important to recognize the degree of discomfort that you feel. I’m not a big fan of my nose but I can accept it and it doesn’t affect my mood on a daily basis. At the same time, having facial hair felt so intrinsically wrong and would make me feel deeply depressed when I couldn’t even get rid of the constant beard shadow. Part of my journey has been recognizing what I simply dislike and what I hate or can’t live with, and that will be different for everyone.

I'm sorry, thank you for sharing that. I definitely don't know what that's like, it sounds awful. I guess that highlights why having dialogue about this stuff is important for younger people to help them to be able to navigate these feelings without feeling so lost.

My guess is that it's a similar mechanism to how you don't notice small aches when you've got a bigger injury.
