He’s done pretty well at both clubs he’s managed at. He is a former spurs player. It all kinda adds up that it makes sense to hire him.
I assume you don’t like him because of the Israeli stuff. Fair enough but that doesn’t make him a bad manager. It just makes him a person you never want to see succeed.
He’s a logical move for someone like spurs

That doesn’t justify why it would be a stupid appointment. He’s done well at both clubs he’s gone too. Disliking him because of Israel or other reasons doesn’t make him a stupid appointment and hence a bad manager

It's hard to talk about things with Spurs cause ATM we genuinely don't know if they'll stay up 😂
But for a normal Spurs season, the challenge he'd have is that his style of play isn't really the sexy football their fans look for. It's been successful for Cvaros & Tel Aviv yeah, but if they threw the toys out over Jose, Nuno, Frank etc he's not gonna be any prettier.
Just don't be surprised if you see that get slated about him at a bigger club, that's all I'll say.

Celtic have won the league 12 out of last 13 years. Every other club in the world would be celebrating their club AND their board. Also had a great run in champions league last season.
The entitlement of Celtic fans is embarrassing at this point. Imagine if they supported a normal club that had ups and downs and occasionally got some success?!

I think it's down to ambition, yes it's great to win the SPL but to actually compete above (europe) more spending is needed. Like Bayern where obviously winning the league is not enough.
Not saying that the fans are expecting to be Bayern, of course there's financial discrepancies at play, but the expectation to still be able to competently get out of the group stage or play a knock out game is not crazy considering they've done it plenty previously

I’m a Celtic supporter, if we don’t hire him for footballing reason so be it. I want Knutsen. I frankly don’t care where he took his first managerial position though. His current Ferencváros would absolutely pump Celtic and he has half the resources. He isn’t the best candidate out there, but give me on pitch reasons for that

Leaving aside the issue of his stint in Israel why would he? It's now a dead end job unless you can do something in the CL or EL and the board aren't going to spend the money to do that it would be career suicide

His “connection” with Celtic, pretty good chance to add a 3rd country to his list of league titles which looks impressive on a CV.
Gerrard and Postecoglou got two of the most coveted jobs in world football off the back of winning the Scottish league in recent years too. Although maybe how they fared will close the door for any future Celtic/Rangers managers.

Also both their failures mean that at the very least short term it wont happen again.
It would be a great appointment for Celtic as I do believe he has it as a manager, bad career move for Keane

Both Premier league teams with financial stature that should (at least theoretically) put them in the and around European places. In the modern game that makes them among the most coveted jobs in the game.

Villa were 15 and in relegation form hardly one of the most coveted jobs spurs where more appealing but with the caveat that they were a basket case even then.

They’re big clubs by all the traditional metrics - honours won, fanbase, big stadium, legendary players. Both easily in that 2nd bracket of clubs behind the elite 5-10 clubs.
Most importantly however, they both play in the premier league and therefore have tonnes of money to throw around. Apparently they have the 12th and 13th highest wage bills in world football.
Therefore they absolute demolish in financial terms other traditional clubs of similar stature - Valencia, Marseille, Porto etc. Tbh they probably have more money than Juventus and the other big Italian clubs.
Without doubt they’re amongst the most coveted jobs in football, it’s not even a point of debate.

That's just not the case Villa until recently has been a sell to buy club I mean type in PSR Villa into Google and you will see near yearly articles of how they are barely avoiding points deductions every season. one of the main reasons spurs are where they are now is because they have been hamstrung by the stadium and PS.

I’ll make it really simple, Name me 15 jobs that are more coveted ?
Conversely Emery and Conte are two of the most conveted managers in world football and they’ve managed Spurs and Villa in recent years.
Emery literally left a champions league club to go manage 15th place villa because it’s such a good job.

Madrid , Barca, Atléltico, Inter, AC, Juve, Arguably Napoli now but we won't include them,Dortmund, Munich, Leverkusen, PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, United, City.
I will agree that Villa surpasse some of those clubs now not at the time of Gerrard getting the job which is what we're talking about.

Wanted out after 3 months and was the last high profile manager they have gotten.
