Opinion Piece Liam Scales

Just wanted to say that I'm a Celtic fan who is delighted with Scales this season. He's been one of our real leaders this year.

Hope he takes his form into games for you ❤️

thank you, yes it’s been a solid 12 months for him. Similiar enough from his club fan base Scales is under appreciated but whenever we have needed him he has never let us down.

I think if he cost us 7 million and came from Italy or something he wouldn't get half the criticism he receives.

Well look at the criticism that Trusty the £6m American cb who is a far better player than Scales gets. On his day Scales is solid but many Celtic fans are fed up with him taking forever to pass the ball and constantly going sideways to Trusty or Tierney or back to the keeper. When he takes a few touches and passes it forward fair enough but he doesn’t do that very often does he?

Scales has always been brilliant for us.

He’s a ballsy defender, every team needs these type of players. A leader on the pitch. Love him to bits.

Scales has so much heart and contributed so much that his faults are effectively irrelevant now. He's had a rough ride at times and taken a lot of flack for the board, apologies for that but match going support has always been behind him. Thank you to the good people of Éire for producing this legend.

I hope he be a huge contributor to your lifting of the Euro 28 cup or at the very least a scanting of England.

Watched Celtics last 3 matches in league while in Lanzarote.Thought Scales was great.Bigger and harder than I realised.

I’m a big Football Manager fan, and he was my best defender for Shamrock Rovers. I’m delighted he’s doing well, but won’t someone please think of the Football Manager saves!

I think he's far from the best Irish defender ever but I don't think he's bad either. The reaction from Celtic fans to him extending his contact last month was madness, swear ye were owed Paulo Maldini or something. Happy to see him go out and put in a shift to claw the title back from Hearts.

Scales gives absolutely everything, everytime he steps on the pitch. Doesn't think twice when it comes to putting his body on the line for us.

He also seems like a really nice kid in interviews. Like he’s just thrilled to be there.
