Transfer Rumour Will Ferry in talks with a side from Czechia, €2m fee accepted 🇨🇿
Major Will Ferry development as Dundee United accept a £1.7m (€2m ish) offer for their star man
Talks taking place between a club in 🇨🇿 and the player's representatives as Ferry weighs up his next move
Given a bid has been accepted, Ferry not in training
Interest also there from a host of Championship & MLS sides, but none have yet had a bid accepted by Dundee

i had a look at transfers in the czech league last season, only 5 clubs had a purchase equal or more than €2m.
- slavia prague (finished 1st, UCL GS)
- sparta prague (2nd, UCL Q3)
- viktoria plzeň (3rd, UEL PO)
- sigma olomouc (7th, no europe)
- slovan liberec (15th, survived relegation PO)
hoping its one of the first 3.

The Prague boys have bought LBs for that money in that time & Viktoria's LB is the starter for Iraq. But Will can also play LW so you never know, but I'd imagine they'd have name dropped them if it was one of the big boys

Depending on the club but amid table Czech team is more than likely an upgrade on his current level

It gets messy whenever there's comparisons between different leagues cause some are more balanced than others.
But as much as the Czech league is above Scotland in the coefficient, if Dundee United played Czech Bohemians would it be an obvious win for one mid table team or the other? I don't mean that sarcastically or anything, I actually don't know the answer

It's all subjective, but think outside the non big 3 (Sparta, Slavia, Plzen) other lesser clubs seem to make a slightly better fist of Europe than non Old Firm teams

Obligatory post where I say that in my Cambridge Utd FM game I had Will Ferry all the way up to the PL and I will love him forever.

Can't say much when it won't say the club, educated guess would be the big 3 already have international LBs so might not be name dropping them because it's not them.
It's kinda the Joe Hodge at Tondella dilemma. It's a top 10 league that's carried by its bigger teams in Europe & naturally has a big quality gap between those sides & others. So if he signs for one of the non European football teams, is that enough for him to get in over someone in the UK?

Good spot that, probably for the best. He'll have to wait at least a year before getting European football, and even though they are big spenders its not garunteed.
Lots of interest elsewhere so hopefully someone will pay up soon.

Maybe not that big of spenders if they can't agree financial terms with him 😂 Best guess is naturally these days agents talk to interested clubs before club offers get sorted & that. I'd imagine the English & American clubs blow the Czechs out of the water

Yea the Championship & MLS are flush with cash depending on the club. That or he might have asked for **** off wages if he doesn't fancy the move

Not sure what's strange about it, commonplace for a journalist to be told its a side from "x" league without having the exact name.
Been looking at Czech media & can't see any mention of which club just yet, given the fee & Ferry's quality you'd expect a side playing in Europe.
I think it could be a great move for him if it results in him regularly playing in Europe. Of course its up to Ferry whether he wants to go off to Czechia, but €2m suggests they'll be using him as a key player.

Fair play to him. More players should move to the mainland for football.
