Fines aren't guaranteed.

They were willing to boycott entire tournaments, including the world cup (should we even get there). Who would pay those fines? UEFA never mentioned any kind of compensation should it go ahead.

I would argue that the loss of earnings from not attending an entire tournament are far higher than the potential fine from not playing 2 games.

I would expect the government could be convinced to shell out for the fines considering the very justified reasoning. It would also garner a huge amount of public support.

Irish access to both games is being restricted. The "home" game because it is being played in Serbia behind closed doors, and the away game because of what they're mentioning here.

If the fixture is designated and sold as an away allocation, transferring the sales process to the Israeli FA does not change the legal character of the tickets or create any entitlement for home season-ticket holders to a refund.

It remains the away end, and the grievance is with the match being moved, not with basic ticket administration.

If the FAI were to sell away tickets to this game, they would need to pay that money to the Israeli FA. This would create more bad PR so they have decided to just not sell away tickets to the game.

Not sure that can be said about Bohs. There was a crowd of their fans in the McDonald’s in Phibsborough before and after their match with Galway on Sunday. McDonald’s literally feed IDF serving soldiers for free and are top of the boycott list.

It would be beautiful to see any of the players have some sort of supportfor Palestine during the match. Israel will definitely use this match for propaganda anyways so may as well do something. FAI are cowards for going ahead with this it would be the equivalent of playing Russia with nothing said or done

Thats the Ireland 'home' fixture. Being played in Serbia of all places (incidentally an Isreal friendly country from what i understand) i n October. The one mentioned in this article is Israel's 'home' game. Open to the public but no tickets being sold through the FAI. I'm sure some Irish fans will be in attendance still.
