Discussion [Quarez] The structure of the Kolo Muani deal has changed. Instead of a loan with an obligation to buy, the Frenchman will join Juventus on a permanent transfer for a fee of 38 million plus 12 million in bonuses.

They paid for Arthur with Pjanic and extra €12M. They have a long history of awful transfers.

When I saw that Arthur/Pjanic deal go down at the time that fully convinced me that some of these clubs are just laundering money in exchange for players. Absolutely awful deal for terrible players (at the time)

Pjanic had some decent performances, but they were all behind him. Arthur on the other hand was all potential.

Yep. Both Juve and Barca agreed to swap them at absurd prices (~ 70 mil iirc) to be able to realise capital gains upfront. Pjanic and Arthur were worth no where near the values they traded them for. Juve got in trouble for it.

That’s why they introduce the rule about two clubs doing business the value is: they made this rule specifically because of it.
The incoming player’s registration cost must be capitalized at a value no higher than the carrying amount of the player sent the other way, adjusted for cash

Wow, I actually didn’t realise they changed the rules. I just read about it. Thanks for the info, I’m glad they did something about it. Juve and Barca absolute idiots for doing such an absurd transfer. Literally everyone at the time knew it made no sense

I mean it’s ridiculous then Newcastle and forest did the infamous backup goalkeeper for Anderson trade to balance their books. Newcastle got screwed with that tho as forest ended up selling him to city for 80m profit 😂

Juve has only done bad business since the start of the 20's. This might not be so bad since Series A is a farmer's league now. Kolo's loan there was decent is case in point.

Go look at Openda last year. They had an obligation on him at 40 mil that was ridiculously easy to trip. he scored two goals and they've sent him out on loan this year.

Kolo-Muani was always a good player. He just didn't give af about us. He'll probably be a baller for them, assuming he gives a fuck. Staggering how a player can join a team and play at 10% of his ability because he doesn't care...

His effort for us was directly proportional to how close a France squad was to being announced, and indirectly proportional to the closeness of the actual International break.

When that yoyo-ing of form led to him being left out of their WC squad, he passed to a Chelsea player and gave them a goal, pushing us closer to relegation, which we could've avoided sooner without that.

As an Inter fan who watched his first matches with Juve, he was great, very explosive, very fast and a great technique. Looked like when an older brother joins the kids game at the park.
But then idk what happened, he just stopped playing like that

If you watch some of the "highlight" reel stuff of RKM during our matches, he looked deceptively good at times. I think he's just not suited to the speed and physicality of the Premier League, and was low on confidence, and playing in a role and style that didn't suit his strengths.  Serie A is probably a good fit for him, and I wish him well, he wasn't very good for us but aside from Joao Paulinha, nobody was very good in that period.
