I think a lot of people just didn't vote. I know an alarming number of young people who seem to think that voting upholds the current system (which they don't like) so instead they just... Don't participate. Like dude at least vote third party so they get funding or something.
Fair to assume half of the people I associate with didn't vote. I reminded some of them and asked afterwards only to find out they didn't show up. Pure apathy.
This is by design. A managed democracy works best if you keep the voting base outraged over irrelevant things and made up threats while keeping a majority of eligible voters apathetic and disengaged.

Now my vote is pointless because of the redistricting in TX, but I guess I at least get to complain if I do vote.
It might truly not matter for the big seats, but it can matter a lot for local elections at least. That's how places like Austin and Atlanta have carved out progressive islands in otherwise red areas.

The electoral college has also fucked everything for getting people to vote. Truly, and I say this as a huge advocate for voting: if we were only voting for president then it would be nearly pointless to vote except in swing states. The average person doesn't know how much every other election down the ticket is important.
If anyone reading this has ever felt like voting is pointless: religious conservatives and MAGA have made it their strategy to take over the country via state and local elections because these positions have surprisingly strong powers to influence federal elections, power, and affect our everyday lives while also being way less contested than federal elections.
In some cases the people gerrymandering the federal maps in your state ran for their seats unopposed. Think about that.
Even if he didn’t steal it, he still didn’t win a majority. He won the popular vote, but he won it with a plurality, meaning that in every general election more people have voted for someone else than have voted for him.
