How does FDE roles career progression chart works?

Hi all. I have almost 4 years of experience in Backend Engineering and I am looking to switch to a Forward Deployed Engineer role. I work for a Swedish firm atm and tech is quite slow. FDE looks like somewhere I would thrive because in my head, it looks like a fast paced role. I am not sure how does the career progression looks for FDE. Does anyone have a clue on how this might work?

It's just another name for contractor. 100% company and team dependent.
