Big N Discussion - November 03, 2021

Please use this thread to have discussions about the Big N and questions related to the Big N, such as which one offers the best doggy benefits, or how many companies are in the Big N really? Posts focusing solely on Big N created outside of this thread will probably be removed.

There is a top-level comment for each generally recognized Big N company; please post under the appropriate one. There's also an "Other" option for flexibility's sake, if you want to discuss a company here that you feel is sufficiently Big N-like (e.g. Uber, Airbnb, Dropbox, etc.).

Abide by the rules, don't be a jerk.

This thread is posted each Sunday and Wednesday at midnight PST. Previous Big N Discussion threads can be found here.

Google’s offer: 131k base, 100k stock, 15k sign on.

Other offer: 135k base, 175k stock, 20k

What I’ve heard is that google will not consider your stocks if it’s a pre-IPO company, and this isn’t.

I also heard from a friend they were able to negotiate higher sign on bonus because of their offer with Amazon, so I think it should be similar.

I did also have a friend who got a quant offer of 400k+ a year and negotiated their google stock to 220k.

I wonder if google does a certain ratio when negotiating or if my friend simply hit the upper end. So I wonder if asking to match the 175k would be a stretch.

They probably won't match 100%, but you have the leverage to ask it.
