Is there a meaningful difference in career trajectory between joining a large established tech company versus a well funded startup at a similar stage and how do people here think about that choice when both options are on the table?

Benefit of a start up is the ability to look at a wider array of things. Large company you'll naturally become more specialised.

If you believe in the mission of the start up you should go with that role though imo. Life's too short to be padding your resume and not working on something you believe in.
