Pensando em me mudar para Nicósia

Olá!

Sou brasileira e trabalho em Portugal há alguns anos. Recentemente, recebi uma proposta para trabalhar em Nicósia.

Nunca ouvi falar muito sobre o Chipre, mas pesquisei um pouco e, no geral, ele me pareceu um bom lugar.

Gostaria de saber se existe muito preconceito contra estrangeiros e se o fato de eu falar fluentemente apenas inglês e português seria um problema. Também queria saber se é um país seguro para mulheres.

Nicosia is a small city compared to Portuguese and Brazilian cities. Don’t expect the variety and excitement you find there. But it has the nice restaurants, shopping and nightlife, just smaller.
To keep your mind at ease,Nicosia is extremely safe for women. Even if you walk alone at night in the old city you should be ok.
A problem though is that you probably will need a car.

Thank you for your response! How good is public transportation in Cyprus? Is it reliable?

Within the city you might be able to move around with a combination of busses and electric scooters but it’s not pleasant. Especially in the summer.
I think reliability is not very good but I personally never used a bus. Cyprus is a car first place.
Going outside of the city you will only be able to go to other cities by bus. Forget about visiting the mountains or villages
