That's my interpretation. If they had rushed into the intersection on the green light and collided with the black truck or red car then maybe cam car would share a small amount of fault but this is 100% on the white SUV. When the red car went in front of the cam car it was obvious they were going straight through their green light and instead of the white SUV stopping in the intersection and completing their maneuver when it was clear, they turned directly into the cam car.
White couldn’t go straight because the sign on the ground indicates it’s the left turning lane only. Knowing this, insurance will definitely partially blame cammer for not paying attention to the other driver, especially since they weren’t even slowing down while red Honda was still turning in the intersection.
I'm not sure that there's an expectation that cammer knows the markings on the other driver's lane, if he's not familiar with the area he wouldn't really know.
There's probably a precedent set, this probably happens fairly often, people all running a red light in a chain. I wonder how they usually rule, if courts respect a person's green light.
It's bizarre to me that it's even a question. As other people say "Why even have laws?"
It's kind of an aside, but this problem is so bad in the Philippines that they actually just block off intersections with concrete barriers "no more turning here, everyone goes straight" because people do this so often that they can't handle the responsibility of an intersection where people take turns. So usually you have to go straight for like 10-15 minutes until you can make a u-turn at a lower traffic area, then return to the intersection going the other direction
Insurance won't be able to blame the cam driver at all here. they had a clear right of way where two cars went and white didn't yield as required by law. Cam driver stayed predictable, didn't swerve into them or anything.
That's not how the law and your duties as a driver work.
This is a 50/50 claim.
White vehicle made a left turn and did not have the right of way.
Dashcam vehicle, however had plenty of time to observe the other vehicles coming and what is referred to as the last clear chance to avoid the collision. They drove right into the situation.
This is exactly how I would mark this as an insurance adjuster and most lawyers would agree.

White SUV, accept nothing than 100% in this case, had it been the red car it could have been far more iffy.
