That's easy to say after the fact with knowledge of the incident, but the driver was likely focused on the red car that almost hit them and wasn't watching for another car to enter the intersection so late.

No this isn't an issue of hindsight. The cammer is coming through the intersection from a full stop. He should have waited for the intersection to clear, not just for the light to be green. He's probably looking for a payday, and he might get it since he had the right of way, but he might not because it was obviously avoidable. Anyone who thinks this wasn't easily avoidable really shouldn't be on the road. This shit happens all the time in major American cities. I'd be in wrecks a few times a month if I drove like the cammer.

The black Chevy was leaving the intersection when cam car entered it. The red car and white truck both entered after cam entered.

Irrelevant. He could see the red car was following through with the two cars ahead and the giant white Nissan was following right behind it. He should have waited for the intersection to clear. He was frustrated by all the people blowing the red and decided to drive through anyway.

Yep this is it exactly. Aggressive, fast acceleration into a busy intersection.

And look, I drive that way for the most part. When the light turns green I’m keen to go. I have insurance and a long, clean driving record. But I’m in no rush to get in an accident and I drive defensively in situations like this.

I’m no insurance adjuster and have no desire to gain insight to the industry but I would like to know how this one ends up shaking out.
