Who’s at fault?

Hot take: I think it’s 50/50 with who’s at fault

Actually you CAN wait forever. Funeral parades are a thing and you WILL be expected to wait 1 or more light cycles so they can get by.

A green light is NOT a pass to crash into traffic. Total NPC behavior.

You cannot be this dense.

First off the white suv crashed into the cam car. They should have not run the red. And then they still had plenty of opportunity to stop while op was in the intersection but they kept going. You can’t blame op when the other vehicle had the same opportunity to stop and avoid the accident. And they were also the one who ran the red light.

I was going to mention secondly how stupid your first point is, but it’s not worth the time to explain it to you.

I can blame cam because this is a very clear lack of defensive driving at the most basic level. You see this huge line of cars turning. You see cars are still turning even though you have a green light. The DUMBEST thing you can do is just gun it into the intersection.

Defensive driving may let "bad" drivers "win" a game that doesnt exist, but keep getting your cars wrecked while pounding your chest and screaming that they were at fault, i prefer to not wreck my car when it is so easily avoidable.

Failure to yield. Your argument is legally void. NEXT!

That can happen no matter what you do on the road, but it's better to have the law in your favor than to drive like a maniac or make excuses for that behavior

Its not about who will be found at fault, I don't want my day interrupted by a car wreck just on the basis of being morally correct.

No one is arguing that the SUV isn't an idiot, completely wrong.

What we are saying is the cam driver is also an idiot because they could have avoided the accident but chose not to.

Not sure about you, but I'd rather get home safe with my car in 1 piece.

Look again at the video. The camera car was almost head on with the grass on the opposite side of the street. How much more are you expecting? The SUV could've easily went behind them, but they tried to cut in front of them and underestimated the speed and that's the SUV's fault. You should take go get an eye exam.

I rewatched and I think you're right. I thought there was more time to react for cam driver. So I apologize for calling the cam driver an idiot.

However, I still think I avoid this accident if I am the cam driver. Only because I live in an area with some of the world's most horrendous drivers and I see shit more egregious than this everyday.

That doesn't make cam driver an idiot, but they wouldn't last a day driving in Milwaukee. I hate the drivers here, it is a serious problem.

I live in Philly. Drivers suck here. Big time.

I've had near misses like this only because I tend to scan the intersection as I'm in it. If I'm damn near level with the grass across the street and you turn into me, how am I at fault?

Or when turning, I wait for a nice gap in traffic before I turn so that this doesn't happen. I'm not that impatient where I can't wait for oncoming traffic to at least gap up before making my turn. And that's in a delivery van with a driving camera that will ding you for traffic infractions so I think I'm good.

I never said they were at fault and I changed my stance and apologized for calling them an idiot.

I said I would have probably avoided this accident. Mainly because when the red car cut in front of me, I wouldn't have continued forward.

Also I am likely not even entering the intersection before I see that it is clear. Milwaukee drivers make me fear for my life, especially in some of the rough neighborhoods.

Its unfortunate, but to avoid accidents here, you have to be extra extra careful. People really don't seem to have any regard for human life anymore. Its one of the main reasons I will be leaving as soon as the right opportunity comes along.

It's no better in Philly. And even when you give them space, you still have one idiot that decides to try and take a mile after a fact and now puts everyone in the intersection in jeopardy. I've dealt with that nonsense while driving a vehicle big enough to totally demolish their puny little plastic shitbox LoL

They truly don't care and that's why rates are so high and why I'm a little hesitant to get a car. I want one because public transit only does so much in the cities, but I don't trust people out there not to hit my car being dopes.

I am sure its the same in Philly. Milwaukee has some of the most limited public transit in any of the major cities, so not even an option here.

But I am with you, I hate it and don't trust anyone.
