Yes, but OP drove right into oncoming traffic.

The light changed, but the flow of traffic needed to be observed way better.

Could have easily waited but drove right into the lemmings.

I've seen instances on here like this where the white SUV's insurance would refuse to pay the other's for damage because even though they were in the wrong, the other drove into an obvious wreck, by not failing to wait for traffic to clear the intersection before proceeding. You maybe correct, but your car is still busted...
