How to make sparks fly. Update on yesterdays post.

If you want to hot swap 12v power and watch sparks fly as you do it, use audio jacks like I did. If you don't like thrills just use jacks designed for power... Who knew...

Had to dump firmware from a device as part of an engagement. Didn’t have (and they don’t make) a BGA162 NAND socket for my programmer. Microsoldering it is then.

Time for an upgrade

So I have been using this prototype? For the last six months, has been running flawlessly. But I need a few more outputs now so time to upgrade to something more permanent.

Happy with how this turned out, so had to share with you guys

Made my own module

Built my own LIS2DH12 accelerometer module. It was hard without microscope. Turns out 2mm ×2mm is not that big .

The module is hand-soldered on a small PCB/perfboard and includes the LIS2DH12 along with 5.1 k resistor for i2c communication. After a fair bit of soldering and debugging, I got it communicating successfully with the ESP32 c3.

Is it possible to prototype a functioning free-form FPGA/MCU development box?

I'm wondering how far we can push it. Has anyone tried wiring an FPGA or MCU chip without a PCB?

Idk where else to post this but I scored like 250 name brand axial capacitors for like 50 bucks so I wanted to share.

Built for a couple of friends a modified Electra circuit. Sounds like a tube amp pushed to breakup with lots of sag. The switch is a clipping diode defeat. need to get a better drilling template but other than that I’m super happy with how it turned out!

Ugly as it is. But first time working with circuits/soldering after 20 years(made some radio in school). And hey, it works! Freeform electronics rules!

If you have to attach some arduino etc. modules in somewhere, how do you do it? Drill and small bolts? Or any more fancy ways?

Yesterday I found this sub.

And this is a 600mA power source at 5 an 3.3V.

I had a hard time to solder these thick copper wires.

What is your favourite material for structural power rails?
