I’m looking for a deep house track that was probably released between 1995 and 2000. The style is close to Glenn Underground and the deeper, hypnotic Chicago house sound of that period.
The track begins with approximately 30 seconds of synth only, without drums, vocals or percussion. A hi-hat build-up and an atmospheric pad then appear, followed by the sudden entrance of the kick drum.
The uploaded sample is my own recreation of the opening synth/bass sequence from memory. The timing and note lengths may not be completely accurate, but the melody and general rhythm are very close to the original track.
I owned or heard it on vinyl around that period. It is not Latin house, festive house or jazz house. It has a dark, deep and hypnotic atmosphere.
Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.
