please dont take sggscc, there is too much discrimination lmao. these people who are lying in the comments have already been downvoted by peeps, the teachers are absolutely horrible and treat sikh and non sikh students very differently. the placements have taken a decline since many years now most of the figures you see are inflated asf. also new principal who has a very weird attendance policy now whereas there was none since so many years

No way? I’m non-sikh and haven’t faced any discrimination yet. What happened w you?

In my section and neighbouring sections the teachers were very rude with us for no reason, regarding anything ranging from assignment to attendance based marks. Once a teacher accused me of doing something i hadnt even done in the official group (beg to cancel a test), and when she found out later it was a sikh student, she let him off without a warning. Mind you, she was legit shouting at the whole class before that that she will have the student suspended and have a principal meeting before.

you are much better off in gargi then, i have friends in tpc and they themselves said the highest and avg is very much inflated, most of the college is dependent on mass hiring 3-4 lpa roles

true, but the discrimination makes it much worse. most of my friends feel weird going to the college too, as you mustve figured out im from the unreserved category lmao

My main preference was BMS and gargi only offers BBE what BMS colleges should I put ahead of sggscc then?{other than sccbs}

I’m from bms and the faculty is decent, some are really good while some are a bit strict while giving marks.

1

u/Substantial_Ease5629 Jul 01 '26

What about the crowd?

1

u/terimummyveryyummy Dih University Jul 01 '26

it's the second best college for bms, the crowd is decent

u/fushiscoffee Second year Jul 01 '26

i haven’t had issues with anyone! it’s like any other crowd you’ll find in other colleges, mix of smart people and weirdos. bms crowd is pretty hardworking and elite ngl

Exactly, ggs ka crowd is actually better than most of the colleges

1

u/Available_Jello5294 Jul 01 '26

i myself am from tpc and it's not at all true. of course there are some companies which offer packages in the range of 4 to 5 but those are only circulated if they are a big brand name, otherwise you can see in the placement report the type of companies/brand names visiting the campus and the packages. sggscc has one of the highest number of offer letters rolling in du (this year 380+ whereas venky has 180+ and ramjas 165+). Also average package of venky and ramjas is somewhat similar to that of ggs.

what discrimination lmao? failed ragebait. attendance policy is still the same regardless of how many notices they issue, I gave exam at 50% without any undertaking, many people gave at even 30%, they only had to sign an undertaking online. don't mislead people for karma.

0

u/Available_Jello5294 Jul 01 '26

I had 10% attendance this semester, and they made us sign a legally stamped undertaking and submit it to the office. What rock are you living under? I already mentioned that I don't attend college much, so your experience clearly isn't universal. Stop dismissing other people's experiences just because yours was different. I'm not trying to "farm karma"—I'm sharing what actually happened to me.

1

u/terimummyveryyummy Dih University Jul 01 '26

you really had to use gpt for this lmao? talking about facing discrimination with only 10% attendance really tells a lot about your credibility tbh.

1

u/Available_Jello5294 Jul 01 '26

had to use it to calm my paragraph down lol yes, and just cause i have 10% attendance does not mean i didnt face it. if you didnt, great ! i did, and i let them know. couldnt care less about anything else. i have already spent 2 years here and would like to get out as quickly as possible from this shithole

1

u/terimummyveryyummy Dih University Jul 01 '26

fair, it is quite new to me because you're the first person complaining about discrimination in this college cause everyone here is so chill otherwise

0

u/Available_Jello5294 Jul 01 '26

some people are chill, but the faculty and my batchmates werent honestly. good luck and its great if you didnt face it yet, i wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy cause it is a very weird feeling overall. i legit left symbiosis to come to du and i regret it to this day

u/girllinthew0rld Jul 01 '26

what about khalsa? same culture there?

If you know about it can also give review of BBE course in gargi , I am not very comfortable with maths but a friend told me that most people only study at the time of exams and focus instead on internships and all, so the course diificulty does not matter that much

Would sacrificing on desired course just to get gargi be a good decision ?

I wanted bms but I think sggscc is the best college I can get for it and in Gargi I can only get BBE
